Once we receive either you Pro Tools session files, or stems if you've recorded using a different DAW, the mix will be carried out from the ground up in Pro Tools. If you have a particular or sound you'd like the finished mix to have, include some reference tracks, MP3 is fine, and These will be imported into the mixing session and referred to throughout the process.
Once the mix is complete you'll receive a stereo WAV (and MP3 on request) file of each track at your specified sample rate and bit depth, ready for mastering, another service which is offered here.
£25 per track (max track length is 10 minutes)
Payment should be made in advance either by PayPal or bank transfer, and should be cleared before mixing will commence.
Price includes one revision of the mix in order to get your track sounding just the way you want it.
In the modern age of digital recording it can be very hard to define what a producer actually does, it can be a very passive role involving little more than listening and overseeing a project, or it can be very involved and involve the produced personaly mic'ing up a drum kit or participating in a recording as a musician. In short it is the producers job to make the tracks sound good and realise as much of the tracks potential as possible.
As a producer I'm prepared to be as involved (or not) as you require. I'll oversee your project and help you get the best possible results, when required or requested I'll mix your tracks, and play on them too.
Having spent over 20 years in live and studio environments, I'mis happy to put myexperience and expertise at your disposal with the goal of making the end result the best it can be. I will happily come on to your project as a producer or co-producer, and bring my skills as a musician, mixing engineer and MIDI programmer to the table.
If you'd be interested in having me work on your project get in touch to discuss my availability.
Abbey Road describe Mastering as follows:
Mastering is the final stage in the production process and ensures that the music fits together seamlessly and that it is presented with the best possible sound. It involves editing and compiling the required mixes and tracks in production order, cleaning the audio to remove any unwanted blemishes or corruptions, polishing the mixed sound with equalisation, compression and other processing and then producing the final master.
Often described as the 'dark art' part of sound production, mastering doesn't require any kind of voodoo, it simply requires critical listening, patience and an understanding of what the final goal is. Also required is a view of the larger picture that enables each mastered track to sit comfortably together as well as work alone.
I'm introducing online mastering as a new service available to anyone; using the most up to date digital technology. Depending on requirements there are various levels of service available, from an EQ polish and limiting enabling you to keep the raw energy of the recording session in the final product, to an in depth master where the tracks are tweaked and processed to sound their best regardless of where they're played: CD, MP3, or on the radio.
A the moment I am offering this service at an incredibly cheap introductory price of £20 per track (max 10 minutes per track) for the basic service, with further discounts for work on an album or EP. So don't hesitate, get in touch and you're recordings will shine.
What you will recieve after the mastering process is complete is a stereo WAV file of each song, ready for duplication (introductory offer also includes high quality MP3 of each track).
